President Obama signed the budget reconciliation bill on March 30, which includes a landmark overhaul of federal student loan programs that will save taxpayers more than $60 billion by ending subsidies to private banks. The money will be redirected to education programs, including an expansion of Pell grants, and $2 billion in aid to community colleges over the next four years.

Although you don’t need to go to confession to be eligible for student loan forgiveness programs, it doesn’t…Federal student loan forgiveness programs are issued for exceptional circumstances, so it doesn’t hurt to get help from high places….You are also eligible for federal student loan forgiveness programs if you are in the military, including the National Guard….Be sure your federal student loans are really really bad before you consider student loan forgiveness programs….
